VALE OF WHITE HORSE HUNT, GLOUCESTERSHIRE

The VWH hunt were in the fields near Poulton, Gloucestershire on New Year's Eve. Despite some initial suspicion about my motives, they relaxed - up to a point. Hunting remains controversial in the UK. The Hunting Bill (2004) has banned the hunting of foxes with dogs, but permits the flushing out of foxes and drag hunting (hounds following an artificial scent). The status quo is unlikely to last however and many in the hunting community hope the Conservative government will repeal the Bill if it achieves a substantial majority at the next election.
